That's What You Get...

I decided to be lazy today, since everybody is gone again (work, friends, etc.) so, I've been slopping around in my bathrobe. Wouldn't you know it - today would be the one day someone actually comes to see me.
My dear neighbor from next door came to visit.

She was telling me about a book she was reading ("The Undaunted" - local historical fiction) and I mentioned that I want to read it too, because I had ancestors who were involved in that historical event. (Hole in the Rock)

That led to a discussion of family history, and - can you believe it? We tie in a few generations back! Her great...(x3) grandfather was a brother to mine.

That is just too cool.

I've badly neglected my family histories for the last several decades, but she has been busily working on hers. Hoping we can share some information soon.

Veggie Heaven

Just when I was complaining about not having a garden this year, and how I would normally be up to my eyeballs in squash by now, my daughter's friend showed up at the door with some over-flow from her family's garden!
Squash, cukes, radishes and cabbage...

Tender mercies from strangers.

Private Screening

Last night was fun. My son came over with a copy of his friends' new film "City of Fitness 0" and we watched it together. It was such a hoot - and fun to watch with my son's commentary from behind the scenes.

These guys are getting really good with their filming techniques. They should be ready for the film fest at Sundance soon!

Here's one of the scenes - my son is in this one. (He's the random bandito.)
Warning - violent and graphic content...in a funny sort of way...

If you want to see the whole film, it's all on youtube here: City of Fitness 0
(If that link doesn't work, copy & paste this address into your browser: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0sHRMQt3wU&NR=1)
Have fun!

I guess I should try to accomplish something today...
Where to begin???
