Constitutional Amendment.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the congress,
I hereby propose that Valentines Day be eradicated from this nation's calendar.

It is a day that will forever live in infamy - one that perpetuates misery, engenders false hopes, and destroys the self esteem of all generations.



Do we set aside a day for Little Bighorn?

Nay.

The Alamo?

Nay.

Donner party?

Again, Nay - and for good reason.

As with Valentines day, those events were also brutal massacres that, though appropriate to remember, are not events to celebrate with flowers and candy.

Those of us who are loved know it. We wish them well.

Those of us who are not do not wish to be reminded, or for a 24 hour period, have our noses rubbed in it.
