Jiggety-jig

Made a quick trip home over the weekend.
Hubby's former co-workers had a reunion, and he wanted to be there, to reminisce and also to network.  (The company he used to work for is going to be bringing his department back, and he would really like that job back.)

We got home Friday night.  Saturday morning, the girls and I went shopping.  We had a fun time at the little LDS book store in Spanish Fork (that also carries lots of cute clothes.)  Then we went back home and called the grandkids to come down and visit.  We were having so much fun with them - the longer we visited, the less important the party became to my husband.  We ended up not going.

The little girls are growing so fast this year - it's apparent every time we see them - I swear they're six inches taller this time.  I miss them so much!

Sunday, we went to our favorite little diner in Sanatquin for breakfast - when we walked through the door, the owner's wife nudged him and said, "look who's here!"  LOL  it's nice to be noticed, and to be missed.  (And they know all of our usual favorite meals :-)

All too soon we had to head back down the road...

It's rare to see clouds in the sky over Vegas, but these were kind of pretty with the sun setting slowly in the West...

Monday, we got the word that Melissa had won the title of Employee of the Year at work!  Along with that, she got a bonus, a big raise, and a cruise for 2 to Bermuda!
She will be taking her little sister (who is working for the same company now, and is also loved there.)  I am so happy for them both!  Melissa has worked so hard for so many years, and has really proved her worth.  They both deserve a fun vacation.  :-)

I'm back in my gilded cage now.  Scrounging for projects and trying to be content until the next time...

My son gave me a copy of his book for Christmas, so I am finally getting to read it.  I am enjoying it so much more than I expected to.  (I was expecting it to be something like Star Trek - not my genre.)
I have some pretty talented kids, if I do say so myself!

Just a fun little something - some total stranger randomly reviewed my tumblr blog the other day.  I ran across it by accident while I was scrolling through some pics.

This is what he said:

granny54 runs a tight ship. No, I don’t mean she gets soused and goes sailing. Well, maybe she does…….I dunno.
But I DO know she brings back some amazing pictures from a diverse base. In a Perfect World is her hangout, and if you land there, you’ll be there for a while. Some really great stuff… and it’s like, laid out by a designer and colorful and just gives you the impression that she invited you over for tea to watch the snowfall outside while a grand fire burns in the fireplace.
Grace, charm, and wit. granny54, where are you?

(Granny54 is my username, and my blog is called "In a Perfect World")
I spend an obscene amount of time gathering images to post there, so it's nice to be noticed, and to have someone who gets what I'm trying to do there and appreciates it.

FYI, since I've been doing this, I have saved a boat load of money on magazines - don't need them anymore, I'm making my own!  It's a frivolous useless hobby, but it's time consuming, and I have lots of time to consume...
By the way - I have never been soused,  ...or sailing for that matter.  Ha ha.

I took this photo of this cactus plant on my walk the other day, because I thought it was such a cute specimen - soft and fuzzy looking.  However, I did not notice that there was doggy doo all over it.  Eeew!  Sorry :-(
