Not the usual concept, but that's how this one's going to play out.
I had the last two days off, but I have worked from morning until 2 am trying to create a bridesmaid dress for my daughter. Her best friend gets married this weekend, and shopping trips to find one ready made were epic failures.
It's been so long since I've made anything major like this, that it's been a challenge for me - not to mention the fact that she chose a very unforgiving fabric, and a pattern from H-E- double toothpicks. (It's a project runway pattern - not very user friendly.) And that she's kind of a tricky size right now (top and bottom sizes don't coincide.)
I probably should have waited until this morning to hem the thing - I thought i was getting it straight, but it's looking a little wonky this morning... I just hate leaving things until the last minute - I don't like that kind of pressure.
Anyway, it's done. I work the rest of the weekend, and my house looks like a bomb hit it, so no rest for the weary.
A former neighbor of mine was on a local television show this morning - Judson (Judd) Burton lived across the street from us for years, until they moved up the hill (about Jr. High age.)
He and my son grew up together and are still good friends. He dealt with a lot of tragedy in his young life, (his brother committed suicide) but he has grown into a very intelligent and wise young man.
Here's a link to the show, where he discussed beliefs of the Mormon religion. The Julia Currey Show.
I work through the holiday, but I do have Sunday off, so maybe I'll get to visit the family graves and have a picnic / barbecue with the family - haven't seen my grand kids in weeks!
...Just checking in.
