It's time to update, but not much goes on around here...
I did do a little re-decorating last week - just spruced up my guest room a little for Fall;
My sister made this quilt for me a few years ago, and I literally gasped when I saw it!
Autumn colors are my favorite, and I love the "antiquy, old-timey" feel of it. So much so, that I made a special trip to the town she lives in - to her favorite quilting store, to see if I could find some fabric to match it for some pillow cases.
The lady there looked at me like I was missing a few screws - but she did locate at least one of them. When she rang me up, I nearly lost my cookies - $40 ?!!!! Wow - I would never pay that much for a couple of pillow cases, but what are you going to do - it was already cut at that point.
I found the fabric in a box I was going through the other day, so I sewed them up.
Makes the room look snug and cozy for the season. I have to pretend it's cooling off, since the weather here hasn't cooperated much yet...
Next, I drug granny's old dresser in from the garage. I've had the idea of bringing this in here ever since I saw the room - it's the perfect spot for it. I was going to paint it first, but hey, it's all distressed and shabby-chic'ed, so why bother? People pay lots of money for stuff like this, so I'll just enjoy it as is. :-)
That's really all that's gone on here for a while - I've been really lazy the past couple of weeks, reading, playing solitaire, and watching the telley. (Monarch of the Glen on Netflix, to be specific)
I hope my energy level picks up soon, because there are projects that I want to do, and I need to find a little gumption to do them...
Lastly, just a photo of all the books I've read this summer...
(Beautiful Creatures is missing - it's out on loan)
