It's probably not fair to start my reviews with an older book that is no longer available in stores, but there has been a lot of buzz about this one on one of the blogs I follow, and I was anxious to get to it.This book is a sequel to "House of Secrets".
The first book does lay the background material, and introduce the main characters, but this story does stand on it's own.
I love Mr. Savage's mix of suspense and humor.
I also love the way the mystery is unraveled slowly throughout the story, and how each new twist places the characters deeper and deeper in jeopardy.
The climax is a nail-biter, and the ending was very cool, but I'm sorry to say - a cliffhanger.
I hear he's working on book 3, and personally, I can't wait to read it!
If I were to rate this one, I would give it 4 1/2 stars. (Out of 5.)
